Item Description

A very nice and, without a slightest doubt, extremely rare Vietnam era artifact that survived the War. Pictured is a Phoenix Program flag. Excellent condition complete with its maker’s tag. Phoenix Program known in Vietnamese as “Phung Hoang =Phoenix, Hanh Quan = Military Operation”. Each Province in South Vietnam had its own “units” known as the  Provincial Reconnaissance unit to operate with its boundary.  Designed and funded by the CIA…… and…….. the CORDS (Civil Operations and Revolutionary Development Support) to neutralize all VC suspects and to destroy the VC infrastructure in South Vietnam.  The South Vietnamese  Police was the main armed force for this program. This flag was actually brought back by Doug Humer.  For those who may have heard or known an USMC Major Doug Humer who contributed greatly to the well-known books such as The Sea Tigers and Angles in Red Hats. Both  of them (and The Black Panthers AKA BDQ) were written by a hard-core US Ranger advisor named Mike Martin.
