Item Description

Two pocket cut ARVN style : re-inforced shoulders, elbows, knees, epaulettes.

Stamp of Bo Quoc Phong = Ministry of National Defense, Nha Quan Nhu = Office/Branch of Militry garment supply (our equivelance of Quarters Masters. T.T.S.X.Q.T  (Trung Tam = Center, San Xuat = Production, Quan Trang = Military Garments)  Production year of 1968.  Shirt marks A3 (A = Ao = shirt) and pants marks Q3 (Q = Quan = pants)

South Vietnamese manufacture but sewn from Japan-contracted fabric and printing.

Rare camouflage pattern and AKA as “Sea Wave” to us as VN tiger stripe collectors.  Very beautiful polished and shiny cotton. But not as shine as the early 60s pattern (Type-2). There are FIVE (5) distinct types/patterns that SVN Marines wore thought their 20 year conflict. They are types 1 to 5. Pictures are all FOUR patterns (fifth one is known as “Thais”. Particularly type-4 is known loosely as the “Sea Waves” pattern amongst the collectors. Appeared in about 1968 (possibly even 1967).

Very nice and decent size. About a size US medium/small.
