Item Description

Featured is another RARE South Vietnamese 1962-dated camo set in an ABSOLUTE near MINT condition. Original loose threads are still visible.  Since the set is dated in 1962 , it would make the FIRST type (type-A)  of this pattern , the second (more dull) type did not come out til 1964 (or type -B). Besides being in SUPERB condition,  it is about US Medium in size. This set has been customized to have 4 pockets ( plus 2 zippered chest level ones) shirt and added zippered and cargo pockets on the pants.  Very nice and meticulous “tailor” work.  This Huyet (blood cake) camouflage pattern has been incorrectly called by various names PINKS, PURPLES, and even BULLET PROOFS for decades. The South Vietnamese called it more of  a uniquely and correctly name of HUYET ( roughly pronounced as HUE-WHEAT but in English it literally means BLOOD CAKE or CURD). This better-described name actually got its name from the main and dominant “so-called” brown color that reflects the true and natural color of blood curd.  It  was called as HUYET since the begin of its appearance in the early 60’s by its creators. Sadly for the rest of us, we tend to continue to call this bloodcake camo with other NON-SENSE name/s.
